My Stalker...

If you are on my mailing list or visit my blog, you have been introduced to Tweedle Dum, hatched by one of my hens, not a turkey hen, but a chicken, then let loose when he was only a couple months old. He never really left, roosting in the trees at night and flying back down to the chicken pen in the mornings. He will be 4 years old this summer. We are nearly surrounded by woods, not another house in sight, but he will not venture into the unknown, even when he hears another tom gobbling or a hen calling. Lately, he's been stalking my daughter and I when we go outside. I can see him following me out of the corner of my eye and when I stop and turn to look at him, he stops too, silly boy! This morning, when I went out to feed the chickens, instead of staying with them as usual, he followed me back to the basement door, and kept pacing back and forth, waiting for me to come back out.... I think not. He has changed in the last few weeks, and though he would come within a couple of feet before, now he is acting as if to challenge someone or something. Someone please tell him he'd better go back to being the sweet, timid thing he was, or someone will be having turkey and dressing for Easter!

We finally got snow last night and this morning! I know some of you are ready for spring, but I was so excited to see the snow falling.

Don't forget to check our online market on March 1st for lots of wonderful handmade primitive and whimsical wares.

A Little Tremor....

...was all that was felt here in Idaho this past Thursday. But in Northeastern Nevada, a 6.0 earthquake hit the small town of Wells, Nevada. Almost all of the buildings in town (all 700) had some damage to them. Mostly in the historic district...which is sad, since some of the buildings were built as early as 1860.
But thankfully no one was injured!

Living in the Northwest...we've felt a few shakes! But fortunately haven't experienced any injury or damage from them. Have you had any similar experiences?

Ready for Spring.........

I woke up to an Ice covered wonderland today. The trees and bushes are glistening....truly a beautiful site. But I am so ready for Spring and I have been busy creating some new wax goods and candles. Using beautiful spring colors of robins egg blue & whites is new for me. I usually use the darker and grunger colors but I have to say these have brought a touch of Spring into my home & I love them. Are you ready for Spring?
I am ready for Spring but there are things about the cold that I do enjoy. I love when my girls have a snow day from school...we awake late in the morning, we have a big breakfast...reading, watching a movie or playing cards. I don't think we do that enough just having down time enjoying each other. I love when Marc gets home from work as he walks into our home with the warmth & smells of soup that's been on the stove all day & home made bread. The smile on his face is priceless! He puts on the fire and we sit watching it for peaceful and so comforting. We are all together & I am reminded of how blessed I am to have my Family.

From the pen of Olde Raggs USA

Happy belated New Year To All !! Way before the New Year began, I was thinking of something that needed my attention, something that I really needed to work on.

That being my Soul! Thoughts of how long I have neglected my soul, how long I have kept it without nourishment, how long I have been unaware ! This is not a New Year's resolution, those are usually headed for failure,in my case. Yes, I would like to loose 15 pounds, Yes, I would like to start taking my vitamins again, Yes, Yes and Yes!! There are things about me that I like, And things that I don't like!

So, how does this relate to my Soul?? I believe that every action, every word, every thought gets directly filtered through the soul! I envision the Soul as a brilliant sphere , a separate entity living in me, and only I am responsible for it's care and well-being! I MUST Mother it,protect it and enrich it ! Everything is left behind when we leave this world..but the soul lives and continues on !

I feel that if we all attended to our Soul's,That we could make a difference in OUR lives and the lives of others..Or is that just what I feel?? How about YOU!!!
